It's almost NaNoWriMo — signing off for now

How important is it to you to feel completely congruent, and to have high integrity in your work?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently.

We’re about to welcome another November, another season of NaNoWriMo, and we’re getting ready to wrap up this decade, something has been weighing on my mind.

I'm still not done editing my book.

Finishing this big project has been poking at me for a while. Two years to be exact.

Especially now, as I coach, other writers and lead a community of people who all want to get their writing done.

And I wonder…

I built a space for business owners to do the writing they’ve been putting off. And here I am, over here, sitting with big unfinished projects. Sure, I’m also growing my business, serving my copywriting clients, finishing all my smaller projects, publishing regular content on my blog, and having fun with social media.

It’s time to finish something that feels — and because it is — BIG.

And this November, it all changes in a very intentional way. I decided that I am going to be quiet on my blog and social media for the month of November. I’ll be serving my clients, including all the community members of the Unfussy Writing Community.

Most importantly, I’ll be focused on finishing my book this November. I don’t yet know if I’ll finish it, because it needs a whole lotta work. And with the daily, dedicated focus, I know I’ll make a big dent in it and create some serious momentum.

Also, what kind of writing coach would I be with a pile of big unfinished projects? This one I’m tackling is the biggest (it’s currently at 60,000 words), and I have many more ideas and two more books partially written.

With every blog article and social media post, I aim to serve. I show up every week and do my damn best to deliver helpful content to help you write better and faster.

In honor of…

  • NaNoWriMo 2019

  • 2 months left in this decade

  • Being totally sick of talking about this book for 2 years now

  • Showing up as a leader

  • Finishing what I start

I'm pressing pause on my blog and social media just for the month. I’ll be back in December.

I have faith that the world will keep on spinning, and I’ll probably come out on December 1 a little calmer, and a lot closer to done.

More than anything, I think that will serve you more than a few more articles on writing.

In the name of having a big impact, creating big positive results, visibility, leading, and creativity, I’m signing off to finish what I started.

So that I may be the ideal metaphor for you, finishing your big project.

If you’re already getting emails from me, you'll hear from me once a week with updates on how it's going, including some special insider updates from what people inside the Unfussy Writing Community are creating.

A lot of people in the Unfussy Writing Community are also participating in the NaNoWriMo challenge, and it's going to be a lot of fun.

Want to write with us for NaNoWriMo?

The Unfussy Writing Community is always open

Remember, we do things the unfussy way over here, so your 50,000 words can be anything that you want it to be. It can be a bunch of blog posts, a book, 3 small books. It can be an opt-in, a sales page, a bunch of website copy, or essays. It can be a personal story, a memoir, a romance — it can be anything you want on as many projects as you want. We're going to track it all.

The whole point of writing 50,000 words in 30 days is to create a daily writing practice and to track just how much writing you get done when you have a focused and intentional goal.

If you want to find me, I'll be here, looking at my computer, writing, editing, tweaking relentlessly, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
